LIFE EXPECTANCY, by Catherine Butterfield, is about a not-so-young couple who, after extraordinary measures involving turkey basters, hormones, meditation and in vitro insemination, finally become pregnant. They are led on their journey by two narrators, the married authors of a popular “What to Expect” book who don’t always agree with one another. As Claire tries to balance being a writer in Hollywood with an event-laden pregnancy, and Cliff tries to fend off the advances of the sexy intern at work, we experience the couple’s dreams, their doctors, their friends, their fears, and their fantasies as they navigate those nine crazy months. It’s a 6 actor, 40 character 75 minute whirlwind. The play features Joshua Banday, Tisha Terrasini Banker, Derek Manson, Alla Poberesky, Anna-Laurie Rives, and Kiff VandenHuevel. The ensemble is directed by Ron West.
